About

Thanks for reading my blog! Since I'm just your average girl, chances are that if you are reading this, then you already know me pretty well. Just in case you don't, here's a little bit about me.

I'm originally from a city outside of Madison, WI. I've been running for as long as I can remember, though I only ran on a team for three years. When I went to college at the University of Wisconsin, I started to run trails more often in order to keep my shin splints away and as a means to cope with Seasonal Affective Disorder. I fell in love with the Ice Age Trail and learned that it went through my home-town, though I never even knew about it as a kid.

During college I worked at a camp in the Sangre de Cristos of Colorado for three years where I fell in love with the mountains and also the man that would be my husband. Cory and I got married in 2011 and moved to Pittsburgh, PA for a year. There I learned to love urban parks and worked for a college ministry that takes students on wilderness expeditions and trips.

In 2012 we moved to Denver, Colorado and now we finally feel at home running in the mountains and soaking up the sunshine. I am a gear nerd and a people person and I'm happy to use both of those strengths as the Colorado Sales Rep for a women's running apparel company called Run Pretty Far and it's newly launched men's company called Run Hard Wear. I also work at a bank... not everything can be about running, I guess.

Cory is a much better runner than I am, but I'm the writer and photographer of the family. Writing has always been a love of mine and it helps me deal with the thoughts that I can't get out of my head.

In addition to (and more important than) my love of running and writing, is my love for Jesus Christ. But don't worry, you won't get preached at in this blog. It's something that I love to talk to people about personally, but I don't like to talk about it in a public forum. Sometimes I worry that I'm more evangelical about my running than about my relationship with God, but I feel that labels can be a hurtful thing and that when people think they know something about someone they don't actually take the time to really figure that person out.
